Lesson Title: Lets Play Scrabbles! Prepared: Feb 26, 2013

Pre-Assessment: Students have already learned the words of the objects in the classroom but it is still necessary to make sure that they know the correct spelling of the words. General Objective: Knowing words is not only being able to read, but also able to know the correct spelling of them. Playing with the scrabble tiles will help the students to get the right spelling of the words in a fun way. Lesson Objective: The students will be in a pair and the team that lists the letter tiles from Scrabble the fastest and correctly that match with the picture of the objects in the classroom will earn a point for each picture.

Materials: 10 Pictures of the objects in the classroom from the last class Letter tiles from Scrabble (Prepare depending on the number of students in class) Overview: Review the words of each object in the pictures as a class List the letter tiles that match with the pictures on the board as a group Time: 3 min 3 min 2 min 2 min 2 min 17 min Extensions/Adaptations: Make students create short sentences that include the words that they learn with using the Scrabble letter tiles.

Instructions: 1. Go over 10 pictures of the objects from the classroom as a class 2. Put students into pairs 3. Explain to the students about the game 4. Hand the bag of letter tiles from Scrabble to each team 5. Wait for students to get ready for the game and start the game when they are ready 6. Show each picture to students for a minute. After a minute, spend 30 seconds to show the students the right words and spelling for the words that match with the pictures. After that, give a point to the team that lists the tile letters fastest and correctly (10 sec) 7. Find out which team gets the most points, and give that team applause.
