DIRECTORS LETTER
DEAR FRIENDS,
It is an honor for me to serve as a small part of this organization. There is no other that does what we do, has done it for as long as we have, and is as effective in helping to rebuild lives both during and after any disaster. I am proud to have worked on this event with such dedicated staff and volunteers who share the vision of providing immediate emergency assistance such as food, clothing, temporary shelter, and medicine for those who have been affected by disaster. Our services are provided to people in need free of charge. The American Red Cross is not a government agency; we rely on the generosity of the public. With your ongoing support, we will continue to be there providing people in crisis relief for today and hope for tomorrow. The American Red Cross relies on the generous contributions of people's time, skills, and money to meet people's immediate emergency disaster-caused needs. Your contribution means a great deal to the organization but even more to the families who rely on us to help them through some of the most difficult times of their lives. When you make a donation to the Chapter, you support the American Red Cross work in your own backyard providing disaster relief 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The work we do is unique to each individual and family. Whether its an individual flooded out of their home, a multi-family house fire, or an elderly couple sitting in a shelter waiting out the winter storm, every year hundreds of people receive our services. The Red Cross also feeds emergency workers, handles inquiries from concerned family members outside the disaster area, provides blood and blood products to disaster victims, and helps those affected by disaster to access other resources. Once immediate needs are met, the Red Cross works with each family in developing a disaster recovery plan, which meets the emerging needs of the family affected by the disaster. Such services include on-going emotional support, and referrals to other community resources. It is not unusual for the Red Cross to provide assistance to a family many years after a disaster. We all have important values and ideas, things we care about and want to share. Sometimes we feel we can even change the world, and touch the lives of someone and make it a little better and easier for them to move forward. We want to let other people know how they can join in our efforts and make ALL our lives better. We appreciate your part in providing these service to ease the pain of these terrible times in the live of others. I look forward to your continued support and generosity. Once again thank you!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
On behalf of the American Red Cross of Greater New Bedford, I am delighted to welcome you to Nibbles and Bids; the first of which I hope will continue to be a successful annual fundraising event. I would like to thank you for supporting our Disaster Relief Efforts and we sincerely appreciate your dedication and help. We have enjoyed putting this event together and look forward to producing this event in the future.

The Auction is made possible by the support of local business, agencies, and artists that believe in the work and care to invest their services and talents into helping in our disaster relief efforts. All proceeds from auctioned items go towards providing educational programs and services for victims of disaster, as they work to resume their normal daily activities independently. The Auction is an new venture of the American Red Cross, hosted by the management and staff of the OceAnna Restaurant. It has been a pleasure to work with both them. We are happy to have Pete Braley from WBSM 1420AM Radio as our auctioneer. Pete has been an outstanding supporter of the Red Cross and we appreciate his time and efforts in offering his services as this years auctioneer. Please enjoy your stay while at the OceAnna Restaurant and our Nibbles and Bids Auction. We hope that you will continue to support our efforts and those of the businesses that have provided incredible items in support of the American Red Cross. Please feel free to contact us for any additional information.

AMERICAN RED CROSS MISSION

The Greater New Bedford Red Cross upholds this mission of service by working directly with individuals and local communities to develop and offer programs that address critical human needs and empower residents to assume greater responsibility for the health and safety of their families, neighbors, co-workers, and friends. The basic principles that lead the Red Cross in following its mission are Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and Universality. These programs and services help build safe, healthy, responsive communities in ways that conform to National and International Red cross Standards. The Greater New Bedford Area office is dedicated to increasing and strengthening the services of the Red Cross in surrounding communities by providing relief to victims of fires, floods, storms, and other disasters; staffing blood drives; and providing lifesaving training in CPR and water safety. Current volunteers can work with you so that you can experience new opportunities or utilize your talents as well as train you to help serve your community.
