Love is seen as one of the themes found in Amy Tans Two Kind.

With reference to the short story,discuss the mothers ways of showing her love towards the persona.Provide evidence to support your answer. One of the theme highlighted in the short story of Two Kinds which is written by Amy Tan is love.Throughout this story,I find that the themes of love has shown by the mother towards her daughter,Jing Mei. A mother always want the best for their children.In this short story,the mother wants her daughter to have a bright future.Her mother wants her to be a prodigy to make sure that she success in her life. Because of that,she comes across with idea to make a little bit change to her daughters personalities so that her daughter looks exactly as same as the Shirley Temple,an American child popular actress.She takes the persona to a beauty training school in the Mission distinct.Instead of getting big fat curls,Jing Mei has emerged with an uneven mass of crinkly black fuzz. In this novel,the themes of loves also shown when the mother always expert the best for the persona.She becomes the manager for the activities of her daughter throughout the whole day.She makes the schedule and remindes Jing Mei about the piano lessons and piano practice class.She talks to Mr.Chong,her neighbour and also a retired piano teacher to teach her daughter. As such,the mother will trade housecleaning services for a weekly and two hours a day.This shown that the sacrification of the mother in order to make her beloved daughter able to be a good piano player. Besides that,another ways the mother shows her loves towards the persona is when she always praises Jing Mei in front of others.When Auntie Lindo prouds of her daughter,the mother says that Jing Mei is seriously learns music and will not doing anything else other than that.

Apart from that,we can see that the mother tries to make Jing Mei becomes a talented person although she knows that her daughter is a remarkable children.Jing Mei is not born as a genius person but for her mother,deep in her heart,there are always a way to make Jing Mei become a genius person.Because of hope,she keeps finding the most suitable band effective way to make her dreams come true.She never give up finding the way to make her daughter becomes genius.As such, every night, she gives new tests on facts and numbers ,taking example from stories of amazing children that she has read in Ripleys Believed It Or Not or Good Housekeeping,Readers Digest,and a dozen other magazines she keeps in a pile in her bathroom..She gets all the magazines from people whose house she cleaned.She makes effort to look through them all in order to search stories about the remarkable children. Throughout this story,the mother shows her loves towards Jing Mei when she gives her a piano as a present on her 13 Th birthday although a gigantic argument have happened between Jing Mei and her mother after the talent show. In this story,we know that after Jing Mei facing a horrible experience during the talent show,she starts to give up and blamed her mother on everything that had happened to her.A gigantic argument happens between Jing Mei and her mother but the worst thing is she has evoked about her mothers family in China.Her mother is very surprised and dissapointed because of that.By that time,she almost gives up but she still take care of Jing Mei,s life and gives Jing Mei a piano on her 13 Th birthday as a courage for her to play piano again before her death.This shows that the mother loves her daughter very much.
