) have a myopic hubris that sours our personal dispositions and contaminates our foreign policy. We are blinded by it to such a degree that in due course we lost our way, we became ungovernable. We extinguished ourselves. We did not keep faith with our inheritance. We squandered the crop and turned our back on truth.
