IMPORTANCE OF ONE VOTE

If youve ever thought, Why vote? My vote wont make a difference!, then youre missing an opportunity to elect governing officials who can make decisions that will positively impact your daily life. Complacency is common among Christians because many dont view voting as a spiritual matter. Nothing could be further from the truth. Voting is our spiritual and political duty. History has proven the enormous power that one vote carries. In fact, it can determine the outcome of an election or mean the difference between life and death. Here are a few instances where one vote made a difference. In 1960, Richard Nixon lost the American presidency to John F. Kennedy by a margin of less than one vote per precinct (ward). California, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Texas achieved statehood by one vote. By one vote, Adolf Hitler won leadership of the Nazi party in 1923. In 1776, one vote made English Americas primary language instead of German. One vote caused Charles I of England to be executed in 1649. One vote elected Thomas Jefferson President of the US in 1800. One vote placed King George I on the throne of England in 1714 and restored the monarchy. In 1846, a one-vote margin in the U.S. senate approved President Polks request for a Declaration of War against Mexico. One vote saved President Andrew Johnson from impeachment in 1868.

The next time you are tempted to question whether or not you should vote, consider the important issues that affect you, your community and your country. Dont sit at home feeling powerless on Election Day; instead, exercise your right to make sound voting choices. Your vote does make a difference.

GODS UNCANNY WAYS

Did you know that? Psalm 118 is the middle chapter of the entire Bible? And before Psalm 118, we have Psalm 117, the shortest chapter in the Bible? Then, after Psalm 118, we have Psalm 119, which is the longest chapter in the Bible.

Did you know there are 594 chapters before and 594 chapters following Psalm 118? And if you add up all the chapters except Psalm 118, you get a total of 1188 chapters. Incidentally, 1188 or Psalm 118 verse 8 also happens to be the middle verse of the entire Bible. Would God want it to have a special message for us? It says: It is better to take refuge in God than to trust in man.

WHAT A GREAT COINCIDENCE!

There were two great American presidents- Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. In life and death, they were not separated. Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846, Kennedy was elected to congress in 1946. Lincoln was elected President in 1860, Kennedy was elected President in 1960. Both had seven-letter names Kennedy and Lincoln. Both were assassinated while in office. Lincoln was shot in the head while sitting and laughing, Kennedy was shot in the head while standing and smiling. Both were assassinated by Southern Americans. Lincolns successor in office was Johnson born in 1808, Kennedys successor in office was Johnson born in 1908. Lincoln was killed by John Wilkes Booth, born in 1839, Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, born in 1939. Both their killers were known by their three-letter names. Both killers had fifteen-letter name (John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald). Lincolns killer ran from a theatre and got caught in a warehouse. Kennedys killer ran from a warehouse and got caught in a theatre. Both their killers were assassinated before their trials.

A week before Lincolns death, he was in Monroe, Maryland, A week before Kennedys death, he was in Monroe, Marilyn. Nostradamus himself couldnt have predicted so great a coincidence.
