To all Leaders, parents and scouts, Lien Doan Lac Hong is going to have a hiking trip. Details are as follows: Date: Saturday April 6, 2013. Location : Alum Rock Park, San Jose, CA Time: Start: 9:00 am; All groups shall finish before 12:00 noon. How to get there: From I-680, exit at Berryessa Rd. Go to east and turn right at N. Capitol Ave. Turn left at Penitencia Creek Rd. and go all the way to the end. You will enter Alum Rock Park. Pay $6.00 parking at the entrance booth and proceed all the way to the last parking lot. This is our meeting place. Distance: We are going to divide into 2 groups: - Boy Scouts: about 6 miles hilly: start from parking lot to North Rim Trail to Todd Quick Trail to Boccardo Trail in Santa Clara County Open Space Authority and back. Option: to have lunch at the highest point of the park at Bocardo Trail before heading back down to Park Headquarter. - Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts: about 3 miles not too hilly: from parking lot to North Rim Trail to Eagle Rock Trail to North Rim Trail to Stable Trail to Service Road to Penitencia Creek Trail and to finish at Park Headquarter. Maps will be provided. Parents can join in any groups. Note: - Each scout is required to carry 1 bottle of water. - Bring hats and sunscreen. - Please bring your own lunch if you want to have lunch at the park. - Parents are welcome to join. - After hiking, we can meet at the grassy area near to Park Headquarter to enjoy lunch.
