Oil Pastel Homework: You are What You Eat!

Objective:
Create an observational drawing on 18x24 with oil pastels in which you respond to the idea “you are
what you eat”.

Specifics:
This entire drawing must be from OBSERVATION (no made-up stuff!). Choose your favorite...snack,
meal, or guilty pleasure and arrange it in an exciting or interesting way to showcase its importance to
you, while also considering the colors of the background/setting and how they work with the colors of
your favorite food. Think about plate/glass/mug color, the color of the packaging of a
product...EVERYTHING! Above all else (well, in addition to everything else) make a COOL
COMPOSITION! Your composition should move our eye around...off the page then back on again.

I don’t just want to see apples, bananas, and oranges in a bowl...think above and beyond, and most
importantly, make it about YOU and your TASTE BUDS!
