How does your new understanding of Statistics affect your professional role?

My new understanding of statistics will greatly enhance my role as a school librarian. It will help me professionally in various ways; but will be most beneficial when writing grants. As a school librarian I will need to utilize grants to update resources, technology and programs for my district. By using statistical data I can show how I would use the grant to implement a new program; and how I would keep the program running over a period of time. Having the information about the districts needs and students academic progress displayed in a statistical way can show the immediacy for new programs and resources. I can also use statistics when tracking how the grant is being used and how the students are performing within the program. Accessing grants is only one way I am affected professionally by understanding and using statistics.
