To Whom It May Concern: I am interested in obtaining a SMARTBoard 660i Series for daily use in my classroom.

This is an interactive whiteboard that allows the students and teacher to do many activities. The SMARTBoard has built in educational activities that include timelines and maps for the students to manipulate. I would also be able to show videos and links from online sources. In addition to these many contributions, a SMARTBoard can be used to write and draw on with pens that come with the technology. The estimated cost for a SMARTBoard would be $3,899 plus additional shipping cost. I researched other comparable brands such as Hitachi interactive whiteboards, but I concluded that SMARTBoards are the best quality and userfriendly. I am already familiar with the software and will easily be able to apply my knowledge to further education with use of this technology. I plan to use the SMARTBoard to post the daily lesson for the day. This will include a bell ringer that the students will complete by using the board. I will also incorporate videos of various relevant historical events to enhance the classroom discussion. The board will provide students with an opportunity to have more control over their learning by participating in hands on lessons. Currently, students are unable to view videos and online resources because I am unable to project them for the class to see. Also, I would be able to make print larger for students with visual impairment. The SMARTBoard would be used everyday in my classroom. I expect to spend at least ten minutes using it during each class period. My social studies classroom would dive into a greater depth of understanding of the material if they are given this technology from which to learn. I appreciate your consideration.
