Microbiocide for Cooling Systems

Hydrex 7310
ADVANTAGES
Broad spectrum activity against algae, fungi and bacteria, including Legionella Pneumophila and sulphate reducing bacteria. Very effective against biofilms. Effective over a wide range of pH, temperature and water hardness. Readily biodegradable when diluted. Low toxicity. Compatible with low levels of free chlorine or bromine as well as corrosion and scale inhibitors. Can be used to disinfect certain ion exchange resins. Does not contribute significantly to the AOX (Absorbable Organic Halogens) level in a typical industrial effluent. Does not interfere with the functioning of wastewater treatment plants, and is degraded readily by them. Effective at low concentration - cost effective. Not surface active - non-foaming.

APPLICATION

Hydrex 7310

Hydrex 7310 is a broad spectrum liquid microbiocide for use in a variety of water treatment applications, including open and closed recirculating cooling systems, paper mills, air washers and non-potable water storage. Hydrex 7310 causes immediate inhibition of growth on coming in contact with micro-organisms. It controls a wide variety of algae, bacteria and fungi found in industrial water systems. Effective control of such a wide variety of micro-organisms is achieved at low concentrations, which makes Hydrex 7310 is an extremely cost-effective treatment. Hydrex 7310 readily penetrates the surface of adhering biofilms and its biocidal action prevents micro-organisms from forming the sticky materials which are necessary to form biofilms in the first place. Thus Hydrex 7310 is extremely effective against biofilm formation and at biofilm removal. Hydrex 7310 is stable over the wide range of conditions found in industrial water applications. It is stable in the presence of 1ppm free chlorine and its stability compared with many other biocides at different levels of pH, temperature and total water hardness is excellent. Hydrex 7310 has been shown to be effective against Legionella species even at low concentration and high pH levels, although it is not recommended for use as a disinfectant. Further details are available upon request. Hydrex 7310 is compatible with our entire range of corrosion and scale inhibitors and its stability and effectiveness in alkaline conditions makes it suitable for use as part of our 'High pH Solution for Open Evaporative Cooling Systems' (separate Technical Bulletin available upon request). Hydrex 7310 is non-foaming, easily deactivated and of low toxicity. Its active ingredient is approved by the U.S. E.P.A. for use in cooling towers, air washers and paper mills.

PACKAGING
Hydrex 7310 is available in 25 and 200kg plastic containers. Other packaging is available upon request.
