UPDATE: Nominations have now closed - it's time to place your vote for the best VST plug-in synth in the world today in the poll at the bottom of the article.
It's reasonable to suggest that VST/AU plug-in synths are now the most popular electronic instruments in the world today. A vast number are available, and loads of us use them. In such a massive market, though, nding the very nest synths can be tricky. That's why, with your help, we want to put together a list of the best VST/AU plug-in synths in the world today. We already have a great base to start from - our list of the 20 best VST plug-in synths in the world today that we put together in 2011 - but we want you to tell us about any other instruments that you think deserve to be included in the Comments section below. Once we've got an updated list of nominees, we'll put them to the vote and let you decide what should have the honour of being called the best plug-in synth in the world today. A few guidelines: we'll leave free synths off this list, so only nominate those that you have to pay for. To narrow down the eld a little more, we'll also exclude samplers, and we'll knock out dedicated drum machines, too. Otherwise, it's game on: once all the nominations have been rounded up, we'll put them to the vote once again.
