Oldham Community Radio get money by running a lottery club where people give 1 to be entered into a prize draw for a cash prize. They also ask their listeners to give donations to keep the radio station running. Apart from this they also carry advertising which also gets them a lot of money, although half of a community radio stations money has to come from other areas. Oldham community radio wants their listeners to feel they are part of the radio station so that is why all of their staff are volunteers. However, this does have drawbacks.
