Ask then what they know about valentines. What colors do they think of? What do people do for valentines? Do they receive gifts? Do they play games etc? Art: Topic: Sponge hearts Foundations: ELA.2.17 Use drawings or pictures to represent objects Goal: MF, A Materials: Heart shaped sponges Instructions: Dip the sponges in paint and then put them on the paper. Music and Movement: Topic: Mail Myself Foundations: FA.1.19 Smile of laugh when music is played Goal: LM, M, MSD Materials: none Instructions: Sing the song Mail Myself What do people mail on Valentines Day. What do letters need on then to be mailed, stamps, address etc. What would they like to mail? Have they ever mailed anything? Gross Motor: Topic: Heart hop Foundations: P.2.5 Develop increased control over their body parts Goal: LM Materials: Hearts Instructions: Put the hearts on the floor in no particular order let the children jump over them.
