Masher has finally agreed to do an interview letting us Know what it was like growing up, what influenced him

to become a rapper, what his musical tastes were and give us some news on his upcoming album release Going Hard. Q: Where did you live and grow up? A: I was born in Birmingham City Hospital but I lived in Handsworth which was not a very wealth area so as you can assume it wasnt unusual that people got hurt every now and again but once I was 15 I moved to Solihull but I still kept most of my friends from Handsworth Q: How did you discover you had a talent at rapping? A: to be honest it was an accident, after a night out with friends we decided to go to a karaoke bar where after another drink I decided to get on stage and realised I had a talent Q: What made you decide to follow rapping as a career? A: Well I wasnt doing anything else apart from just going out with mates and I enjoyed rapping and music so I thought if you are good at something never do it for free Q: What artist do you listen to and have they influenced your own music A: my to favourite current artists are Lunar C because of his lyrical skill and Tempah T because of the amount of aggression in his tracks. Q: what is the style of your newest album? A: Ive tried to vary the techniques in my music to show myself as a diverse artist so there is not really one style I followed Q: Are there any collaborations with other artists? A: obviously I worked with other artist as in my mind two heads is better than one so this gave a lot of positive influence to my music I think Lunar C was my favourite collaboration he is a brilliant lyricist
