RADIOLOGY REPORT
Radiology
05/28/2007
#168272 Tom Gregory, Kaibab Spayed Female Feline, American Domestic Long Hair DOB: 05/01/95 Weight: 7.3lbs
Patient #1
Interpretation Thorax: Opposite lateral and VD views of the thorax are available for evaluation. There are multiple small mineralized areas within the lung parenchyma. There is a circular soft tissue opacity at the level of the 6th rib ventral to the heart seen on both lateral views. It is not seen on the VD views suggesting its on mid line. The cardiac silhouette and pulmonary vessels are normal. There is an increase in density of the vertebral bodies. Abdomen: Lateral and VD views of the abdomen are available for evaluation. There are mineralized opacities over both kidneys. The animal is thin and therefore is resulting in poor detail, however, the kidneys appear to be mildly small. There is gas within the small bowel loops. Rad Imp: Mineralized regions within the thorax are of doubtful clinical significance. These may represent previous granulomas, mineralized vessels, or mineralized bronchial glands. No evidence of nodular metastatic disease. The single nodule that is over the area of the 6th rib is of uncertain clinical significance. Given the opacity, this may represent early mineralization. Mineral in both kidneys. Small kidneys suggestive of chronic renal disease. Possible skeletal hyperostosis. 168272 - 09/11/06 *R Cole

#168272 Tom Gregory, Kaibab Spayed Female Feline, American Domestic Long Hair DOB: 05/01/95 Weight: 7.3lbs
Patient #1
Interpretation Abdominal Sonography: The liver, spleen, and urinary bladder were imaged and were normal. Both kidneys were small irregular and had severe loss of the corticomedullary differentiation with mineralization that shadows in both of them. No evidence of obstruction was identified. The small intestines were imaged and had normal wall layering but the muscularis layer was pronounced and overall thickness of the intestinal wall measured up to 4 mm which has thickened. A couple of small mesentery lymph nodes were identified. Conclusions: Diffuse thickening with maintenance of wall layering consistent with IBD. Probable chronic progressive renal disease with calculi and mineralization in both kidneys. 168272 - 09/11/06 *A Bahr

BIOPSY
#168272 Tom Gregory, Kaibab Spayed Female Feline, American Domestic Long Hair DOB: 05/01/95 Weight: 7.3lbs Admission No: 422973
Patient #1
HISTOPATHOLOGY REQUEST TISSUES SUBMITTED: A. Duodenum B. Duodenum 2 C. Colon D. Ileum E. Stomach CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS: None PREVIOUS BIOPSY NUMBER/DATE: No HISTORY: Weight loss, ultrasound - thickened bowel; chronic kidney disease
HISTOPATHOLOGY REPORT GROSS: A. Duodenum: Fifteen endoscopic biopsies ranging in size from 2 x 2 mm to 6 x 2 mm. B. Duodenum 2: Sixteen endoscopic biopsies ranging in size from 1 x 1mm to 8 x 3 mm. C. Colon: Eight endoscopic biopsies ranging in size from 2 x 1 mm to 2 x 6 mm. D. Ileum: Twelve endoscopic biopsies ranging in size from 1 x 1 mm to 6 x 2 mm. E. Stomach: Nine endoscopic biopsies ranging in size from 2 x 2 mm to 6 x 2 mm. MICROSCOPIC: A. Duodenum: Some of the poor quality specimens appear to have blunt and possibly fused intestinal villi and the crypts in some specimens are distended with mucus. There is a moderate increase in a mixed inflammatory cell infiltrate in the lamina propria that besides lymphocytes and plasma cells also include eosinophils and a few neutrophils B. Duodenum 2: Similar to above. C. Colon: Multiple specimens exhibit mild goblet cell hyperplasia with some crypts being distended with mucus and one crypt abscess; however, the lymphoid infiltrate in the lamina propria was within normal amounts. D. Ileum: Only tips of villi were sampled and no interpretation could be provided. E. Stomach: While the biopsy specimens were adequate for interpretation, there were no remarkable changes present in the mucosa. MORPHOLOGIC DIAGNOSIS: A. Duodenum: Mild chronic lymphoplasmacytic and eosinophilic inflammation with apparent blunt and fused intestinal villi. B. Duodenum 2: Similar to above C. Colon: Mild goblet cell hyperplasia with one crypt abscess
