His Choice

By Sharon Cumiskey 2008

Nothingness, an endless void God chose a teenage virgin.

Until He raised His voice. Angel choirs rejoiced!
All that ever will be – was! He knit a babe within her womb.
Creation was His choice. Creation was His Choice.

With life the seas were teeming, This Son who grew with wisdom
He filled the sky and land. Into a faultless man,
Adam and his mate came last. Sent here as a sacrifice.
Perfection was His plan. Perfection was His plan.

A tempter seeking victims The tempter sought this god/man,

Connived to gain a soul. But lost as was foretold.
In an instant all was lost, Sinless as a spotless lamb.
Redemption was His goal Redemption was His goal.

He sent a plan through Moses, A plan so cruel and heartless,

The Law – to guide our lives. The Cross - to bear all sin.
Man fell short of God’s demand Christ chose to hang there for you.
To win His heavenly prize. That heavenly prize to win.

Now holiness is foreign Still holiness is foreign

To mankind’s sinful heart. And mankind is still lost,
Another way was needed But Satan was defeated
One Satan could not thwart. By Christ’s death on the cross!
