CITY FROM OLD TO NEW IN SILENCE TO NOISE ,A CONGLOMERATE OF TODAY

Although urban communities seem to be an invention of modern society on the globe there are cities older than anyone would have imagined, whose history dates back many years even than the country hosting them now.

Piatra Neamt is a mountain town, one of the oldest cities in Moldova with an age of 2000 years (former Dacian place). The first written mentions about this place are due to Russian Chronicle (cca.1387-1392) and documents arising from the expedition of King Sigismund of Luxembourg in Moldova in 1395.

Following the accelerated industrialization of cities, towns development came the need to "accommodate" workers. This creates "overnight" construction with as many levels and as crowded, disappearing green space part of the old flood urban settlements.

Finally, we should reflect on the landscape in which they are inserted or scattered old and new settlements: a space for new relationships with dilated northern territories, the slowness and dangers communications. Cities of any kind are nothing but poor refuges against traps that undefined space where dilute territorial organization of our country and where a new organization delayed.
