Stage 1- Desired Results Station/Center 5 Teacher Help Station Content Standard (s): W.2.

7 - Participate in shared research and writing projects. 2.L.1 - Understand animal life cycles and be able to describe it and the animal.

Understanding(s)/Goals: -Students will understand that it is always good to ask for help and understanding. Students will also learn that it is good to discuss what they are doing and their ideas so that they can gain feedback. They will understand how to grade someone on what they have done.

Essential Question (s): - What can I say that's positive about my peers presentation? - How can I ask for help and clarification?

Student Objectives (outcomes): - Students will be able to ask for help from the teacher. The teacher will give advice before they present their projects. After students present they will grade each other on how well they thought the students presented what they learned. Did they make it clear for people to understand and was their presentation interesting? Did the students thoroughly know about their animal?

Stage 2- Assessment Evidence Performance Task (s): - Students will ask for help from the teacher about their projects. Students will present their projects to the class and then grade each others by giving positive feedback and a number 14. 1 being they didnt understand and 4 being they now have a better understanding of that animal.

Stage 3- Learning Plan Learning Activities: - In the Teacher Help Station students will discuss animal projects with the teacher. They will ask for advice and help. This is their time to get the teachers opinion before it will be graded. The teacher will also ask why they think it is important to know about different animals. Discuss things they need to still work on. After the students presents their project their peers will give them a grade 1-4 and give reasons why they scored them a certain score. After everyone has present students will then fill out a survey asking what they learned from the experience, and what they thought about doing independent research projects.
