A growing body of research suggests the importance of family involvement on student achievement and we feel we need shift how we are implementing our family involvement practices. The attached plan outlines our ideas for the upcoming school years to increase parent involvement utilizing parents as partners in both education and for other striving parents. For the past several years we have seen small growth in our student achievement scores and we know we have many positive factors in place such as strong instructional teacher leaders, effective classroom practices and overall positive school climate. However, our school feels we are missing the critical factor of family involvement and would like to pilot an innovative new program in our building. I believe this is an important plan. It will benefit both the school and the community at large by increasing school, family and community relations. Thank you for your support.
