Matisse Collage

Henri Matisse was a French Post-impressionist painter. He was famous for his colourful paintings and his amazing use of colour. In later life when he began to lose his sight, he started to do large collages out of painted paper. He lived a long life from 1869-1954. He was one of the most important artists of his generation, changing the way people viewed artistic expression and the nature of art.

Directions: 1. Present the artist Henri Matisse (Power Point attached) 2. Have the students choose one of his collages and make one of them with their materials. (Maybe they can add a personal touch to their collage)
