Cork LGBT Awareness Week

Cork LGBT Awareness Week: LGBT Awareness Week is organised to acknowledge and demonstrate that LGBT individuals are family members, community residents, constituents, citizens, visitors, service users and service providers. The purpose of the week is to advance Objective 86 of the City Plan The gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities will be enabled to fully participate in the social, cultural and economic life of Cork City. Pride Celebrations are organised by the LGBT Community but Awareness Week is where Cork City, its agencies and communities come together; LGBT Awareness Week is supported by Cork City Council, HSE South, VEC, Dept. of Social Protection, An Garda Siochna, Cork City Partnership, LINC, Gay Community Development, Cork Trans Support Group, Ballyphehane Togher CDP and Sexual Health Centre. We are delighted to be supported this year by the women from Ballyphehane Togher Arts & Crafts Initiative Wednesday 15th/Thursday 16th 4-6pm. Ballyphehane Togher Arts & Crafts Initiative use Bealtaine City Hall workshops to guerrilla knit some rainbow themed crafts for IDAHO Day.
