Chocolate cake brownie base

Pre heat oven to 350 F of mark 3. Makes 16 pieces in tray (basic recipe) Ingredients 2 oz butter or margarine 1/2 lb sugar 2 eggs 3 oz self raising flour 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp vanilla essence 2 oz plain chocolate (melted)

Line the cake tin. Cream butter, add sugar and beat till light and fluffy. Add eggs gradually and beat till mixture is smooth. Add melted chocolate. Gradually add flour and salt sifted together. Stir in vanilla essence. Pour batter into tin. Spread out. Bake for 25-30 mins, wait to cool then cut into squares.
