ACT

ARE WE READY FOR

2025?

WHAT WILL YOU DO TO BE 2025 READY?

INSIGHTS FOR TODAY!

The United Nations Population Division has forecast that we are well on our way to reach the 8 billion population mark by 2025! Are the Earths resources food, oil, environmental, etc sufficient to sustain this level of growth? When the world population was 1billion around 1798, Malthus proposed a theory that is possibly even more relevant today!

Seek to establish the nexus of population, resources, economics and the environment Be assiduous in our data collection and reason precisely on that data As new information arises, we need to be willing to change our opinions Results of this reason should be tempered by humane treatment of the poor and disadvantaged

Who was Malthus? What is the Malthusian Dilemma?

The Reverend Thomas Robert Malthus was a British cleric and scholar influential in the field of political economy and demography. He rose to fame with his controversial work An Essay on the Principle of Population between 1798 & 18 26 He argued that the capacity for population expansion could far outstrip increase in food production (despite human inventiveness and higher productivity). Population could only be kept in line with food by checks which include war, famine and disease.
