Clements High School Exemption/Finals Week Information Spring 2013 Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Answer: If a student has a study hall, athletics, or fine arts can they bring a note and leave? NO! Students must remain on campus during any assigned classes. The ONLY way a student can leave is if a parent comes into the school and checks them out, through the attendance office. This applies to all students. Are exempt Juniors and Seniors required to attend school during a final exam period if they are exempt? Refer to the schedule of dates and times below to determine when to be present: Monday, June 3 Exempt Juniors and Seniors may leave at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 Exempt Juniors and Seniors report to their 5th and 7th period classes. Exempt Seniors report to the Auditorium at 8:00 a.m. for Graduation Information Assembly and to sign exemption sheet. Thursday, June 6 Exempt Juniors report to the Girls Gym at 8:00 a.m. Exempt Seniors report to the Auditorium at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5 Exempt Juniors report to the Girls Gym at 8:00 a.m.to sign exemption sheet.

Are Homebound students eligible for exemptions? Yes, if they meet the grade requirement and the TAKS requirement, they are eligible. Are Special Education students that take TAKS-M eligible for exemption? Yes, any special education student taking an alternate form of state testing that meets the attendance, discipline, and grade requirements, is eligible for exemptions.
