Brief/Session/Document Title

Brief Create a typeface based on the letters and numbers found on racing yachts to be used on printed material for a proposed boat exhibition at the Martine Museum in Cornwall.

Background / Considerations The letters and numbers found on yachts represent probably most sailing boats have a sail insignia, a emblem and or a group of letters, and a number provided by the builder. The insignia identifies the maker and the model. Consider the legibility of each letterform. Design them to be easily recognizable from far away. The letters on yacht sails represent the national sailing authority of the country in which owner and boat reside. Each governing body of a country/nation/Principality etc. that is registered with the International Sailing Federation has been assigned a three-letter code. Some of these national codes are very easy to identify: "GBR" (Great Britain) and so on are selfexplanatory.
