The SPEAKER. The next order of business is Agenda Item 11. The
Chair is informed that no petitions were received
by the deadline provided under section 4(b) of
ASUN Public Law 75–49. Therefore, there is no
business to be had under this Agenda Item.

The SPEAKER. Under Rule III(e) of the Senate Rules, each Senate
meeting will have two periods for general
comments and announcements to be made by
Senators. Each Senator is allowed two minutes for
such comments. Does any Senator seek

Public Comment
The SPEAKER.
The Chair will state that the Nevada Open Meeting
Law requires public bodies to provide a general
public comment period at each of its meetings.
Remarks can be to issues both on and not on the
agenda. The Chair will recognize members of the
public who request to speak. The Chair may also
impose reasonable limits on the amount of time
that a person may speak.

The Senate will suspend. Pursuant to section 7 of ASUN Public Law 75–49,
the Senate will now attend the inaugural ceremonies for the President and
Vice President of the Associated Students. The Senate will formally process
to the location of the Inaugural Ceremonies. Members will be led by the
Secretary. Senators-elect shall process by College or School two-abreast.
When the Inaugural Ceremonies have concluded, the Senate will retire to its
chamber and proceed with its business. The Senate will be formally sitting
during the ceremonies.

Mr. President, we have been directed by the Senate to inform you that a
quorum of the Senate has assembled and is ready to receive any

The Chair lays before the Senate a communication from the President
of the Associated Students, transmitting, pursuant to law, the Budget
of the Associated Students Government for Fiscal Year 2010. The
communication, together with accompanying papers, reports, and
documents, is referred to the Committee on Budget and Finance.
