Estimate the average drying time for droplets in a spray dryer that is operated using a co-current flow of air at 60 C, relative humidity of 10%, and a flowrate of 10 cm/s. The initial average droplet size is 350 m, and the final average droplet diameter is 300 m. You can assume that the critical moisture content is not reached during this drying stage.

2. Perfectly spherical particles are compressed in a tablet press to a final porosity of 20%. Using the figure below, calculate by how much the final porosity of a tablet is changed by doubling the pressure.
