Week One Welcome Newsletter

Hi Everyone! My name is Becca Bobrow and I am the codirector for this years Camp Challenge Rookies! Although this is my first year with the Northbrook Park District, I have previously worked at Wilmette and Glencoe Park District summer camps. I attended New Trier High School, and after graduating from the University of Colorado in Boulder,CO in 2011, I am now working on my Master Degree in Social Work at DePaul University!! I am looking forward to an awesome summer and cant wait to get to know all of you! Greetings, My name is Cheryl Graff and I am a codirector for Camp Challenge Rookies this summer. This is my 4th summer with Northbrook Park District. Currently, I am a senior at Michigan State University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education with a focus in Language Arts. I am looking forward to a fun-filled summer with all of you!

To prevent lost items throughout the summer, please label everything that comes with your child. Please send your child with SUNSCREEN, BUG SPRAY, GYM SHOES, and a WATER BOTTLE everyday! Free Swim: Mondays @ Sports Center 12:45-1:45pm Wednesdays @ Meadowhill Aquatic Center 12:00pm-1:30pm Fridays @ Sports Center 1:00pm-2:30pm Every Wednesday at camp is dress up day. Monday June 18th - All About Me Day No Swimming Today! Happy first day of camp! Campers will be creating life size body sketches and playing getting-to-know-you games. Tuesday June 18th - Group Spirit Day Camp Pictures Today! Campers receive camp t-shirts We got spirit yes we do! Camp groups will show their spirit by participating in making songs, cheers, a team flag, and games to show their Rookie pride! We will also enjoy some Mad Science in the afternoon. Wednesday June 19th Weird, Wacky Wednesday Dress up Day: Wear a wacky outfit Free Swim at (MAC) 12:00-1:30pm today! Campers will be participating in weird and wacky crafts and relays today. Thursday June 20th- FIELD TRIP- Rainbow Falls Please Bring A Lunch! Today campers are heading to the Rainbow Falls water park in Elk Grove, IL for a splashing good time! Friday June 21st - Hawaiian Day Free Swim at Sports Center 1:00-2:30pm Today, campers will make Hawaiian crafts and participate in games such as Hawaiian musical chairs, limbo, and island hopping.
