KEEP MIND: ➢ We use an apostrophe + s (’s) to show to


whom a thing belongs.
• Varun has a yellow car.
This sentence indicates that the yellow
car belongs to Varun. So by using
apostrophe + s we can write it as:
Varun’s car is yellow.

➢ Sometimes we join two words using an


apostrophe to make short forms. We omit
one or more letters and use an apostrophe
in their place.
• I am ~ I’m
• They are ~ They’re
• She had ~ She’d
• I will ~ I’ll etc.
