edu To Whom it May Concern: I am interested in being considered for a full time teaching position within your school system. I graduated from Miami University in May of 2011. My provisional teaching license is pending renewal with the Ohio Department of Education, and upon acceptance of a full time position it will be converted to a Four Year Resident Educator License. With my license, I am certified to teach science and social studies in fourth through ninth grade. I am also certified to teach math, reading, and language arts in fourth through sixth grade. As you can see from my enclosed resume, I have a wide range of educational experiences. During my student teaching at Crosby Elementary, I taught all four content areas at the fourth grade level. I have also taught seventh and eighth grade science for a school year, and sixth grade math, science, and social studies for a semester. I am currently substitute teaching here in Southwest. An area of educational interest of mine is the use of technology. I feel that technology should not teach students, but be used as enhancements to teaching. Throughout my teaching experiences, I have incorporated technology into my teaching methods in many different ways. In order to continue to increase my skills with incorporating technology, I have completed a graduate-level course on incorporating technology into content-area teaching. If you have questions, or would like to further discuss the materials in my portfolio, please contact me. Sincerely, Richard Glenn Jefferson
