Basketball court ready to roll

After a big eort last Thursday, the basketball pole was hauled into place and, with the lines due to be painted this week, the court is ready to go.
Well be organising an ocial opening later in June so watch our website and facebook for details. And in the meantime, Q: How many blokes does it take to raise a basketball pole? A: Four as long as one is really tall! Seats for the Mall Project

The aim of our Seats for the Mall project is to get furniture and art in the atrium area of the mall. South Alive wants to make the area a vibrant and colourful space - where we can have small events and performances and where you can sit for awhile and watch the world go by.
As well as the seats, we also plan to have four planter boxes in the back entrance foyer. And were working with SIT and local artists on a concept for aerial art. To make this project happen, we need the support of businesses and/or individuals to donate one of the proposed seats or garden boxes . If youre able to help, please contact us (see details bottom right, below) or drop into our oce. Full details of the chairs and boxes, and prices are in the window of our oce in the Mall. We can also discuss how we can acknowledge you for your contribution.

New Community Noticeboard

South Alive is really pleased to announce that with funding from the Community Trust of Southland it has been able to provide a noticeboard for community events and information.
Its ready to go and is located in the mall atrium area, across from our oce. Were looking forward to clubs, organisations, schools and event makers keeping us posted with what s going on - and theres plenty of brochure holders as well for take-away leaflets.
