Congress Avenue Austin, Texas 78701 Partha Ray Athena Educational Institute 3905 Santa Susana Mission TX 78572 956-844-0378 Dear Sir/Madam: I represent Athena Educational Institute, a SES provider who has been providing its Online tutoring services to many LEAs in the state. One of them is La Joya CISD. I am associated with them for the past three years and respectfully want to bring to your kind attention a serious violation about this LEA. This LEA has forced all the providers to conduct tutoring from inside their campus. When asked about the reason, the district didn't explain it clearly. Athena Educational Institute is an Online provider and spends lot of money upfront in giving away the "Learning tool and hardware" and wireless modem like Sierra Wireless U598 from Sprints to each of their students allowing them to get tutoring practically any time 24/7 from home or elsewhere.This LEA has restricted the tutoring to be done only for 2 days in a week to be held at their campus between certain hours in the afternoon apparently for no reason. Many times tutoring for those days will be cancelled for special campus event, TAKS/STARR testing, faculty meetings, holidays, Spring break and many other reasons which lengthen the duration of tutoring, costing lot more money to us letting the students to have access to Internet for 3 to 6 months which cost $43.99/month for each modem. Please look at this serious breach of SES guidelines by this LEA. I have discussed this problem with LEA who never responds to my concern in an open and truthful manner and asking help from TEA's Complaints Management.
