BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

This chapter represented the background of study in online enrollment system in

Stratford International School.

Introduction

As technology continues to advance becomes a closer to everyday life.

Computers are already seen every day at work, at school, and at home. Daily activities

either involve the use of or depend on information from a computer. This maybe

because of computers are used in almost every field of profession like education and

office works to perform large number of computers work related. Computerization is a

control system that manages processes in industrial workplace. It reduces human errors

and processing time; thus, it can boost productivity that results into a high quality of

product. In Information system, computerization is concerned about interrelating

different but independent transactions. This can result in a system with well-integrated

process that can perform much faster and more accurate than a manual system. In a

field of educations, researchers and theorists have focused intensively in recent years

on examining the concept and use of information in to assist administrators, teachers,

students and parents. Schools likely to any other organization used to manage all.

Stratford International School is a private non-secretarian institution in General

Santos City. It was established in 2000 and was named after Stratford-upon-Avon in

England, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Stratford International School has a lot
to offer, it is a K-12 accredited institution with a Senior High School (SHS) department

offering the Academic, the Arts and Design, and the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood

(TVL) Tracks. Stratford also provides undergraduate degree programs; there are

available courses in Teacher Education, Agricultural Technology, Information

Technology, Hotel and Tourism Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences,

and Theology. Aside from these programs, the school also have variety of TVET

courses available in the areas of Hotel Restaurant Services, Health Care Services, and

Electronics.

Stratford International School and its programs are duly recognized by the

Department of the Education (DepEd), Commission of Higher Education (CHED), and

the Technical Education and Skill Development Authority (TESDA).

Ever since the establishment of the Stratford International School up to present,

students that are enrolling are using the manual method of their enrollment system. The

long usage of the manual method will cause for the administration to have stress for the

verification of the student’s information because of the understanding of their hand

writing. And also cause for the students to wait in line for the next person to be assess.

The online enrollment system in Stratford International School, this system

proposal aims to easily input all of the necessary information, course, and subject of the

enrollee. This system also provides the needed and storing information in a faster, and

more convenient way of storing file of the student enrollees in a computer system that

will lessen the effort of faculty staff in storing files of each students every now and then.
Statement of the Problem

The following questions are to determine the overview of the admins and

students in the “Study of aims on how the online enrollment system in Stratford

International School will be efficient to the students and administrations”.

1. What is the profile respondents in terms of:

a. Age;

b. Sex;

c. Marital Status;

d. Occupation, and

e. Nationality

2. How will the system help the school administration?

3. What can it be offer to improve the system?

4. What will be the benefits to the students and administrations using the

system?
Research Objectives

This primary research objective is to determine the efficiency of the propose

program in online enrollment system in Stratford International School to the students

and administrators of the institution. The secondary research objectives are:

 To know the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, marital status,

occupation and nationality.

 To know the administrators of Stratford International School on how it helps them

the system compare the previous system.

 To know what can be offer to improve the system.

 To know how will the system benefits the students and administrators of Stratford

International School.

Significance of the Study

This study would be significant as a result that could be benefit the following

persons;

Students taking up Information Technology in Stratford International

School. The result will give them a recommendation of their study and ideas in

developing a system in regards with the online enrollment system.

Professors and Instructors on information techonoly related subjects. The

result of the study will be guiding form in aiming an online enrollment system in Stratford
International School in effectiveness of the subject. This study will be a supporting ideas

to know the system.

School Administrators of Stratford International School. To know the

effectiveness of the system, that can be equip administrators of the institutions to

provide an efficient and more smooth flow of the enrollment system of Stratford

International School.

Future Researcher. The result of the study will help the future researchers with

the opportunity to contribute of improving the system in the future and their study.

Personal growth, and development, which can help the researcher’s expertise in the

field, their credibility and potentially further research.

Scope of the System

This system was focused on proposing the online enrollment system at Stratford

International School with the following criteria of the system.

 The system allows the students to enter the basic detail of a students to

be needed in enrollment process.

Delimitation

This system has limitation on online enrollment system at Stratford International

School theses are as follows;

 This system does not support online payment transactions.

 This system is not operated for cellular phone.
