The manufacturing sector is still basically for both the advanced and large developing economies. Why manufacturing will contribute to the global economy today and in the coming decade? In the advanced economies manufacturing imply more than employment, promotes innovation and productivity. When economies industrializes manufacturing rise rapidly as well as the wages raise, so consumers have more money and they wasted on services and that makes the services a more important source of growth and employment. Nowadays, on the manufacturing industries lots of their employees are working in service roles, so the manufacturing and service industries are working together. For the recovery of this Great Recession in the advanced economies, manufacturing will really help. But in a long term, to survive, the manufacturing industry will have to specialize in very skilled activities. There are five different segments of manufacturing industries depending on the global manufacturing value added: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Global innovation for local markets. Regional processing. Energy. Global technologies innovators. Labor-intensive tradable.

In a near future a new global consuming class will appear from developing economies and will create rich new market opportunities. In the established markets, lots of innovations are appearing and that will contribute to develop the productivity gains. Companies must follow and understand the emerging markets. With minim risks must bet for new developing markets or switching to new materials. If manufacturing companies approach decisions in a more nuanced way will surge a new manufacturing company that respond quickly and decisively to changing conditions and has long-term opportunities. Governments must work with industry and educational institutions to ensure that skills learned in school fit the needs of future employers.
