SWISS breaks traffic records in July

Swiss International Air Lines carried 1 466 104 passengers in July

a 10.4% increase on the same period last year (2010:
1 327 446), and a new record for the total SWISS travellers
transported in any calendar month. Saturday 30 July brought a
further superlative: the 50 733 passengers carried were the
highest daily total in the companys history. SWISS performed
12 932 flights in July, up 4.0% on the same month last year (2010:
12 434), while total available seat-kilometre capacity was a 5.0%
increase on the prior-year period.
Systemwide seat load factor for the month amounted to 89.2%, an
improvement of 2.0 percentage points on the 87.2% of July 2010.
Seat load factor for the European network was raised 3.9
percentage points to 83.4% (2010: 79.5%), while the 92.3%
intercontinental seat load factor was a slight year-on-year
improvement (2010: 91.2%).
SWISS WorldCargo recorded a cargo load factor (by volume) of
77.7% for the month, a 1.3-percentage-point decline from the
79.0% of July 2010. Total cargo sales were 1.6% up on the prioryear period in revenue tonne-kilometre terms.
