REQUEST FOR CANCELLATION OF CREDIT CARD AND WAIVER OF INTEREST CHARGES 1. I, Capt Saurabh S Bisht, am having SBI Credit Card no 4377486524022744 with your bank. The said card was issued to me May 2011 onwards. I also have my DSP a/c no 20049271147 as also savings a/c no 30075475204 with State Bank of India. 2. The a/m Credit Card is currently blocked due to irregularities in payments in the past. I would like to appraise you that I am a serving Army Officer with the Indian Army and that I was deployed in a far flunged area in East Sikkim where I did not even have a telephone connection due to which I was unable to make the payments due on time. The irregularities in payment were not due to failure on my part to do so but due to the exigencies of my service. 3. Also, I have been making lump sum payments as and when possible. I have made payments of Rs 40,000 on 28 Mar 2012, Rs 20,000 on 07 Apr 2012 and Rs 39183.15 on 02 Jun 2012 leaving Rs 32888.89 as the total outstanding as on date. 4. The current outstanding amount of Rs 32,888.89, however, are not on amount of any expenditure that I have made but purely interest charges that have been levied on me. On account of this reason, I had requested the bank to waive off these charges against me. 5. I have repeatedly filed requests with your customer care regarding the unblocking of my credit card and to waive off the a/m outstanding amount, but these requests were not progressed which I came to know when I followed up with your customer care service. 6. You are requested to please look into the matter and resolve this grievance failing which I would be forced to cancel my card and stop all correspondence with State Bank of India.
