Sickle-Cell Disease- a life-long blood disorder where red

blood cells take the shapes of an abnormal, rigid, or sickle shape. When
these weirdly shaped cells are in the blood stream, they clump up and block
the blood flow through the small blood vessels. Life expepectancy with this
disease is shortened also.Red blood cells contain the protein hemoglobin.
This iron-rich protein gives blood its red color and carries oxygen from
the lungs to the rest of the body.

HOW IS IT CAUSED? WHAT ARE THE
