I h ope you all had an ab solutely wonderfu l holid ay weekend filled with family, friend s, good times and great food .

Withou t fail, I find I am so sad when the summer comes to an end because I think it is my favorite time of year. Bu t, as th e leaves b egin to chan ge, the weather starts to cool an d I hear those familiar holiday tu nes, I realize ju st how mu ch I love th e winter h oliday season. I love the food , th e time with family and the general hu stle an d bu stle of life as it g ets closer and closer to Christmas. I meanwho d oesnt g et th e urge to tap th eir feet to Jingle Bells , righ t? On e way I love to celebrate the h oliday season is to break out my h ot app le cider recip e and sh are it with my family. I just love the smell of th e cinnamon , orang es, cloves and app les simmering away on the stove. Its truly better than any can dle you could b uy. I also enjoy the excited look on Dustins face as I h and him a steamin g mu g of hot apple cid er. Th ough , I always have to tell h im its too hot to drin k right away, cuz we both know hes gonn a go for it if I dont tell h im. This h ot app le cider is really easy to make and tastes so yummy. It will warm your soul. Well, maybe thats goin g a little far, but it will definitely h it the spot.

Looking for an adult hot ap ple cider? Thoug h I h avent yet tried it with this recipe, feel free to add some d ark rum to th e cider recip e. Anyways, I hop e you try ou t this h ot app le cid er recip e. Its quick, easy, deliciou s an d will make you r house smell like Christmas. Winn er!

H o t A p p le Ci d e r Rec i pe
2 q uarts 100% app le juice 1/2 cup brown sug ar 1 ap ple, u npeeled an d cut in half 1 small naval orange, unp eeled and sliced into 1/4-inch slices 2 tsp. whole cloves 2 cin namon sticks 1/2 tsp . freshly g rated n utmeg 1/2 tsp . allsp ice

Carefully insert the wh ole cloves into the ap ple on both th e flesh and skin sides (see p icture above). Heat app le juice over medium h eat in a large p ot or du tch oven. On ce heated, add the brown su gar and stir to dissolve. Add th e remainin g ingredients. Bring to a simmer and let simmer for 15 minutes. Promptly remove th e app le halves, oran ge slices, cinn amon sticks and any clove remnan ts from th e pot. Serve h ot. En joy!
