Changing Perspectives in Old Testament Studies Past, Present, and Future

International Conference at the University of Copenhagen October 9-12, 2013

The conference focuses on the major changes within the field of Old Testament Studies during the past 50 years. It is the aim of the conference to investigate those changing perspectives within a broader context of Hellenistic studies, theories of composition, theories of history, anthropology, archaeology, Ancient Near Eastern religion and comparative literature, Dead Sea texts and cultural memory studies, and to suggest future prospects for the discipline. See the program. See the list of abstracts. Keynote speakers are Douglas Knight, Thomas L. Thompson, Philip Davies and Niels Peter Lemche. The opening lecture will be given by Prof. Jack Sasson, Vanderbilt University. The conference is hosted by The Faculty of Theology, Koebmagergade 44-46, DK1150 Copenhagen K., and organized by members of the Dept. of Biblical Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ingrid Hjelm, Prof. MSO, Dr. Anne Katrine de Hemmer Gudme, Prof. Dr. Jesper Hgenhaven and Prof. Emer. Dr. Thomas L. Thompson.
