Letter from the Lieutenant Governor

LTG RJ Immerman speaks about survivorship at Relay for Life South

Hello Division 28 South! I hope you are all having a fantastic start to your summer vacation. I recently had the wonderful opportunity to attend May Board Training Conference, where I learned how to better serve you! It was a great weekend where many things happened. First, I was chosen to serve on the District Convention Committee.

We chose "Your Golden wonderful summer, and I Ticket" as the 2014 District hope to see you at the Convention theme! I re- July DCM! ceived training on ways With much love, to better lead you! Key Leader (6/14-16/13) May Board

By Serena Salgado On May 21st, Division 28 South held the May DCM at Liberty High School. It was full of tons of great information. There were updates on all of the great things that the clubs had been up to in the month of May. The 2013-2014 Division Assistants were also announced. We also announced our club of the month, which was Valley High School. Congrats Valley! After a few updates and reminders we then were able to hear about wonderful service opportunities through a presentation from the Childrens Miracle Network. At the end of the DCM there was ice cream for the Pandas to enjoy. See you at the DID YOU KNOW? next DCM! The California-Nevada-Hawaii
District is the largest Key Club district. The second biggest district is HALF its size!

What it meant to become, Club of the Month.

By Karl Catarata At the May DCM, I was completely shocked when our club was able to receive the Club of the Month award. When I heard that we were able to complete more than 800 hours, I was stunned and proud of our club. We had worked so hard, with our magnet programs and all of the club activities itself. As a club, we were all very pleased in being able to give ourselves a pat on the back for all of the difficult and complex work that we had done for the community. On behalf of the executive board of Valley Key Club, we thank our Lieutenant Governor RJ Immerman and the C.U.B.S. Division board for allowing us to become club of the month.

JULY DCM
We asked You answered

Question: What is your favorite thing about DCMs?

My favorite thing about DCMs, also known as Division Council Meetings, are the president reports. President reports are where presidents of each key club reports the activities and projects that their club has completed, or will be doing in the near future. This is my favorite thing about DCMs because I am able to hear about the great service that each club is doing. I am also able to take note of great ideas, and transform them into even more better ideas for my own club! President reports are a great way to show off your clubs activities and successes, it is also a great way to share amazing ideas to other clubs. This has been one of my most favored things during a monthly DCM -Karl Catarata Valley Technology Editor

The July DCM will be held on July 17th and will be an interesting experience for all that attend. It is a joint DCM with Division 28 North and West. This gives us a chance to find out what is going on with the other Divisions, to let them know what we are doing in our own, and to bond with the other members in the area. It will be held at Desert Breeze Park from 10 am to 11:30 am. We hope to see you all there pandas!
