Teacher brings in a rope. Teacher asks pupils to cut the rope into three equivalent lengths. Pupils measure the length of each ropes. Add the length of each rope to get the total length of the rope before it was cut. Teacher then explain to the pupils the mathematical sentence involving the activities just now : Total length of the rope
