DATE: SEPTEMBER 8, 2011 TO: FIRESTONE VALUED CUSTOMERS SUBJECT: FIRESTONE SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS
Firestone Specialty Products is proud to offer an innovative, holistic approach to maximizing water resources. Our total system approach expands beyond traditional stormwater systems, which historically only stored or treated water for pollutants. The Firestone Environmental Passive Integrated Chamber(EPIC Chamber) is an onsite water management and reuse system designed to collect, filter, retain and distribute water below ground at its source. Bringing together passive subsurface irrigation, water storage and filtration in a single, customizable solution, the Firestone EPIC System utilizes capillary rise and gravity to provide controlled water management. Whether you are looking for water management solutions for green space, athletic fields, irrigation, parking lots or stormwater run-off, the EPIC System can be designed to fit your projects footprint and achieve hydrologic responsibility.
Sustainable Benefits
Irrigates with 50-85% less potable water, depending on location and application Recycles rain and grey water for onsite irrigation Firestone EPDM Geomembrane can be used to create a cost effective barrier to store water EPIC Pan Sheets or EPIC Pans allow for infiltration when required Minimizes the amount of pollutants discharged from the system Reuses collected storm or waste water without above ground exposure, eliminating the need for open retention ponds Requires minimal maintenance after installation Is supported with a Firestone 20-year warranty May contribute to LEED credits in the following categories: o Sustainable Sites o Water Efficiency o Materials and Resources o Innovation and Design o Regional Priority Credits
Applications
The EPIC system includes products that can be used individually or in conjunction with one another to provide a complete and versatile water management solution for a variety of applications.
Subsurface irrigation enhances landscaping, green roofs, athletic fields, rain gardens, infiltration basins, etc. Green parking transforms traditionally impervious areas into functional green areas when used with one of Firestones paver or turf reinforcement products Golf courses improves vegetation growth by utilizing a sand profile to capture and retain water

Injection molded neoprene grommet are made to work in conjunction with the EPIC Pan Sheet or EPIC Pan. The connection holes for 2 pipe connectors form a watertight seal.
Netlon ATS consists of small interlocking, three-dimensional polyethylene mesh elements that can be combined into various soil profiles to create a stable, load bearing, multi-use green space.
Manufactured from high quality, recycled thermoplastic components, NetPave 50 provides a structural, permeable, plowable and versatile solution for parking surfaces and paths applications.
Similar to NetPave 50, only at half the profile. NetPave 25 is ideal for lightweight traffic areas and residential applications. TurfGuard is an extruded polyethylene mesh that can reduce surface wear, provide erosion control and protect overall turf quality. Whether installed in newly seeded soil or on existing grass, the mesh system can increase the load bearing capacity.
