Mini Assignment 3

Brainstorming

Someone facilitates. Remind members not to stop to talk about the ideas; keep it moving fast. Quantity is more important than quality. Generate and share ideas as quickly as possible. Do not own ideas, good or bad. Piggyback or hitchhike ideas onto previous thoughts. Do not evaluate; bizarre or ridiculous is fine. Sweat out the silences and plateaus until someone comes up with something. After many ideas are on the list, discuss them and narrow them down. Come to a consensus.

Nominal Group Technique (NGT)

Get each member to write ideas on cards. Collect ideas round-robin, one at a time from each person. Post them on the wall so that everyone can see them. Discuss each idea in order. Have individuals privately select and rank priority ideas. Report and discuss the selections. Take a final vote, possibly by individual rankings.
