Transient Response by Rootlocus FCS-Labs 2011
Transient Response by Rootlocus FCS-Labs 2011
To verify changes in the transient response of a unity feedback control system, this is estimated by root-locus plot.
In these labs you shall study changes is poles position (by varying loop Gain, K), and consequently, the changes in transient (unit step) responses of the feedback system shown in the figure 5.1.

(I) (II) (III) (IV) (V) Note: Estimate C(s)/R(s), and draw Root locus on MATLAB, Estimate Poles positions for K = [1 2 5 10 100] and find; whether system is Stable or not, damping ratio ( ) & natural frequency ( n) of feedback System, Transient Time (Ts = 5 / n). Simulate the system on MATLAB/Simulink and verify these results obtained above. Simulate the system on MultiSIM and verify these results obtained by MATLAB. Tabulate the results in following chart. You can find roots of the characteristic equation as follows: R = rlocus ( n , d, K) % R = roots of the ch. Equ.

LAB-5:
Design & Develop the feedback control system and get practical unit-step responses of the system. Compare practical results with (hand) estimated results in the following chart.
