1. When liquids expand they increase in volume. 2. The expansion in liquids means the increase of volume or the capacity in liquids.

Mercury is a liquid metal which expands on heating and so is used in thermometers. (on cooling or shaking the liquid mercury comes back to its original form)

A raw popcorn is the seed of a plant . A popcorn pops on heating because the amount of moisture inside the unpopped seed changes from liquid to gas. The water vapour formed expands and explodes through the covering.

Water gets converted into steam. Because when water gets heated up its molecules get separated so it starts to boil and steam raises.

IF there would be no liquid expansion? So no liquid expansion, no evaporation, no evaporation , no rain and no rain leads to droughts.

Liquids expand much more than solids. Liquids they take the shape of their container , and when they get heated their level increases much more than the container

expansion of water in the range of 10- 11 Is quite different from that in the range of 93 - 94 .

The rate of expansion of a same liquid some times differs greatly in different temperature ranges . Example; the amount of volume

A liquid has no definite shape like that of solid.
