Nondules on penis and scrotum Rash present for 4 8 weeks has suddenly become worse Pustule on palms and soles of infant Nocturnal itching Generalized, severe itching Pinpoint erosions and crusts on the buttocks Vesicles in the finger webs, grayish areas, and squiggly lines (burrows) Diffuse eruption sparing face Rash is present in several members of the same family patient

Physical exam
A scabies diagnosis is most commonly made by looking at the burrows or rash on the skin.

Burrow Identification
using washable wide-tipped marker , and draw over the bumps with it. the ink will not wash away and will instead leave a dark, irregular line along the burrow. a tiny, black dot will remain at the end of the burrow where the mite is located.
