The assisted living facilities are designed for seniors who
may need assistance with daily living activities and perhaps
with medications. They also enhance their residents quality
of life.
This will be the 10th facility Vancrest has opened with
each one noted for its quality of care, cleanliness and resi-
dent satisfaction.
Other facilities include Resthaven in Greenville, Sarah
Jane in Delphos, Vancrest of Eaton, Vancrest of Holgate,
Vancrest of Urbana, Vancrest of Van Wert, Vancrest of Con-
voy, Vancrest of Delphos and Vancrest of Antwerp.
White said, Vancrest is proud to be a part of the area and
I will be so glad to have everyone come and see what a nice
facility this is. We look forward to serving residents and
family here in Payne.
PAYNE The community is invited to an open house
from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17 to come and see the new
Vancrest of Payne Assisted Living Complex.
Vancrest of Payne was officially opened on July 1, 2013.
The former Dallas Lamb Foundation Home facility was sold
at auction to Vancrest Healthcare Centers Inc. in December
of 2011 for $455,000.
Owner Mark White and his staff have torn out rooms,
taken up carpet and given the building a complete facelift.
During the remodeling phase, at least two unexpected
projects had to be done on the building as the fire sprinklers
on the new portico, or canopy, had never been installed.
It is required to have them because the canopy is attached
to the building. The sprinklers inside had to be replaced as
well due to being old and deteriorated.
Walls and ceilings were replastered, new woodwork
adorns the walls, and the whole atmosphere is one of ex-
citement, comfort and beauty.
Dave Rellinger was the facilities construction manager
and has worked with White on all the Vancrest building
projects. He was on site in Payne, and, along with White,
has coordinated the new construction and remodeling.
The building is decorated with colors and designs to make
the residents feel at home and comfortable.
There are 24 assisted living apartments, which are roomy
and equipped with all the comforts of home. There is a huge
walk-in closet in each apartment, a wet bar, shower, mi-
crowave, access to great dining, washers and dryers and
places inside to just sit and visit or pass time.
