HARVEST HOUSE AUTHOR JILL KELLY FINALIST FOR 2011 CHRISTIAN BOOK AWARD
EUGENE, ORApril 19, 2011Harvest House Publishers is pleased to announce that author Jill Kellys latest book, Prayers for Those Who Grieve, has been selected as a finalist in the Inspiration category for the 2011 Christian Book Awards. Presented annually since 1978, the Christian Book Awards have been awarded to the highest quality in Christian publishing in six categories Bibles, Bible Reference, Non-Fiction, Fiction, Children, and Inspiration. The awards are selected by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) based on excellence in content, literary quality, design, and significance of contribution. Prayers for Those Who Grieve came from Jill Kellys own personal journey of grief after her son, Hunter, born with a fatal disease called Krabbe Leukodystrophy, passed away in 2005. Kelly recorded her deepest hurts in tear-stained journals and watched as God ultimately turned her overwhelming grief into peace. To help others who grieve, Kelly shares her prayers in this comforting book, accompanied by inspiring photographs of nature by award-winning, professional photographer Brody Wheeler. Kelly, wife of retired Buffalo Bills quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Kelly, is also co-founder of the Hunter's Hope Foundation. The foundation seeks to raise awareness and research funds for those suffering from Krabbe Leukodystrophy. The Kellys have also shared their story nationally on Oprah, Good Morning America, The Today Show, ESPN and in USA Today, Reader's Digest and People. The Kellys reside in New York with their two daughters. Excited by the nomination of Prayers for Those Who Grieve, Kelly noted being selected as a finalist for the 2011 Christian Book Award was a distinguished honor. Winners for the 2011 Christian Book Awards will be announced at the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Awards Banquet on May 2 in Colorado Springs.
