Eugene, Oregon04/13/12Harvest House Publishers VP of Sales and CBA industry veteran John Constance has announced that he will retire on September 1, 2012. Constance was hired as Harvest Houses Director of Sales in 1999 and promoted to Vice President of Sales in 2002. For the past 13 years, his demeanor, character, and integrity have provided solid leadership for the company. Looking back on his time at Harvest House and anticipating his upcoming retirement, Constance reflected, Im incredibly grateful for the 13 years Ive had the opportunity to be a part of the Harvest House family. Working as Vice President of Sales with Bob Hawkins and the whole Harvest House team has been a rich and wonderfully rewarding experience. Since 1999 Constance has been a perfect fit for Harvest House, bringing with him years of experience as owner of Intermountain Christian Bookstores in Salt Lake City and service on several CBA boards and the Zondervan Dealer Advisory Committee. He had also previously worked as a Regional Sales Manager for both Concordia and Zondervan. His lengthy career in the industry provided him with a retailers perspective of the marketplace and a unique understanding and ability to connect well with accounts. He has successfully led the Harvest House sales team with an emphasis on service, exemplifying the companys core values of establishing and maintaining long-term relationships. As a result, Harvest Houses sales channels expanded not only in North America, but internationally as well. Working alongside John these many years has been a tremendous privilege for me, our sales team, and our entire staff. With a work ethic like few I have ever witnessed, John has represented our mission, values, and books with an amazing amount of grace, kindness, and humility, said Bob Hawkins, president of the company. His passion for excellence has only been surpassed by how much he is loved by every account in this industry. We will soon be losing a gem to retirement. Thank you, John, for all you have given to Harvest House, Christian publishing, and bookselling over your entire career! Brad Moses, Harvest Houses Director of Sales, will work closely with John during the next several months to ensure a smooth and seamless transition in every area of the sales departments interaction with and commitments to accounts and retailers.
