Life English Project 1 Grading Scheme We should aim to hand the grades for the project back to the

students by Monday next week. Learning aim: familarity of spontaneous speech; awareness raising between spontaneous speech and prepared speech; understanding key concepts to do with countries, cultures, geographical features; listening for sentence stress and word stress; listening and writing down words from spontaneous speech; interviewing skills, We are listening for : 1. Stress patterns as they are in the students' audio file. 2. Words missing (even sounds like um, uh, ah, mmm.) etc. Also, have a look at the students' comments to get an idea of how closely they identified with the learning aim. Mark with a pencil any words / stresses that the student have not picked up. Let's check the range of numbers we have in errors before we designate a point. Please tentatively go by this scheme and make sure you mark how many errors you picked up in each student's project so that if we have to change this later, we can quickly reference it. Please also put the tentative grade in the grade sheet so that I can have an idea of what each class' average is. 20 points 1-5 words or stresses missing 19.5 points 6-10 words or stresses missing 19 points 11-15 words or stresses missing 18.5 points 16-20 words or stresses missing 18 points 21-25 17.5 points 26-30 17 points 31-35 16.5 points 36-40 16 points 41-45 15.5 points 46-50 15 points 51-55 14.5 points 56-60 14 points 61-65 13.5 points 66-70 13 points ... etc.
